Patriot Games Radio – Fenway Park Writers Series

Wednesday, July 23rd, 2008

Tonight’s show was outstanding if you ask me. First and foremost, the chatizens were engaged and inspired. I would not want to do my program without them. In fact, I couldn’t do the show without them. Thank-you, thank-you, thank-you. Second, my guest, George Mitrovich was engaging and well-informed. We spent a considerable amount of time discussing the Negro League’s and the late, great Buck O’Neil. The author of this post intends to treat herself to the July 28 Fenway Park Writers session (it’s her birthday).

Programming note: The name of the show is now Patriot Games Radio (formerly known as Bottom Line Radio). Your comments and suggestions are appreciated. Don’t forget to mark the show as a favorite and rate each segment as well.

Upcoming program: Terry Michael makes a reappearance on Tuesday, July 29th.

Support Our Troops – Ham Radio & Emery McClendon

Saturday, June 28th, 2008

Grizzly Groundswell member Emery McLendon hosts a TREMENDOUS blog/website. He uses Ham Radio and the Internet to reach out to our troops and their families. It’s great to know that Ham Radio remains viable in the 21st century in conjunction with the internet. This is a positive example of talk meeting new/old medium.

Thanks Emery; have added you to my blogroll.

Wi-Fi Radio – The Next New Thing

Sunday, May 25th, 2008

I have had the pleasure of experimenting with Wi-Fi Radio. It makes sense given my growing presence in the internet radio universe. For those of you who don’t know, Wi-Fi Radio allows you to stream internet broadcasts to a radio device without benefit of a personal computer. All you need is a working internet connection. The folks at Com-One have been extremely supportive. They shipped me a Phoenix Wi-Fi Radio complete with operating directions. I am learning to add local stations to those that shipped with the device. Aesthetically, the device will complement the decor in any room given its unobtrusive nature. Furthermore, the device is lightweight and can be readily configured to power down when not in use, thereby minimizing power consumption.  Going forward, I am eager to take the Phoenix on the road, broadcasting its stations from various and sundry remote locations. I am based in Boston, Massachusetts and am eager to meet you with my Phoenix in tow. Drop me a line, please.
