Summarizing tonight’s radio program, here are its highlights. In politics, the issue is never the issue. For example, “global warming” is not about saving the climate, it’s an income redistribution scheme, with some one-world government, centralized bureaucracy thrown in for good measure. Likewise, “stealth care” is not about universal health care but it is rather a devious way to permanently explode the growth of the welfare state, control the lives of nearly 300 million people, and enshrine health care as a right, thereby superseding The Bill of Rights provided by the Founders. Listen to then Illinois state senator Obama’s infamous “redistributive justice” interview and see for yourself. The following links reference the rhetoric characterizing the debate, tactics, bloated bureaucracies, and ultimately, the illusion of yoking universal care to cost containment.

The Patriot Games Radio profile in courage award goes to… US Congressman Artur Davis (D-AL). He alone among politicians in general, but certainly amongst Democrats has acknowledged HIS own failures w/respect to the financial problems now challenging the nation. I can’t say that the recently passed Senate version of the “bailout-rescue” bill is acceptable to this writer. However, Congressman Davis is to be commended for being man enough to admit HIS shortcomings in this matter. Would that other politicians would follow suit, they might find the American public less cynical of and hostile to “government”. I have a special suggestion for Artur Davis – rid the nation of Nancy Pelosi and run for Speaker of the House of Representatives (assuming Republicans don’t regain control).

This is obviously going to be a tedious and fervid sprint to the finish line (election day 2008, November 4). I am on the receiving end of all kinds of Palin rumors. Doug Welch of Stix Blog fame has graciously begun to address some of them, and I feel it right to help spread this word.

Let me be clear: all’s fair in love and war, and certainly politics is war without the tanks. However, there has to be a limit to the tactics used. Chiefly, it is unacceptable to use the children of political candidates as pawns. Which brings us to the news of Sara Palin’s daughter. I have included two sources for your reference. Bottom Line: don’t like using children as pawns.

No need to belabor the Barack Obama/Bill Ayers tussle. It’s an issue worthy of deep examination. Michael Barone does a nice job of unpeeling a portion of the onion here.

Don’t believe the hype. Senator John McCain is not a fool, despite “main stream media” assertions to the contrary. He did not make his Vice Presidential selection of Sara Palin on a whim or lightly. To the contrary, the vetting process was comprehensive, subtle and respectful of all parties. It is indeed typical of today’s media to assume the mantle of omniscience. Quite the contrary, there is much that takes place about which they know little or nothing. Why: because they spend too much time consorting and commiserating with like-minded individuals. A diverse group they are not. Kudos to John McCain for the pick and to Palin for accepting.

The first woman Speaker of the United States House of Representatives has spoken, about her book, that is. Obviously the questions were submitted in advance, but even by that standard, the “chat” was remarkably vacuous. No wonder the book isn’t selling. Scroll all the way down to see the Amazon Sales Rank; you might have to refresh your browser to get the most recent ranking.
