Annoy the Media: Vote McCain-Palin. Fox News Compromised ?

Friday, September 5th, 2008

Rasmussen Polling indicates an impending media-inspired backlash that will benefit the McCain-Palin ticket. One can only hope that celebralists will continue to overplay their hand, thereby losing additional credibility and market share. On a somewhat-related note, could Barack Obama’s recent appearance on the Bill O’Reilly show be part of something larger? To be specific, Newsbusters reports a meeting between the Obama camp and Fox News executives Ruport Murdoch and Roger Ailes. Disconcerting indeed, if there is in fact a quid-pro-quo in the works.

Closing Thoughts on Post-Political Convention America 2008

Friday, September 5th, 2008
  • Three is Enough (3 days is more than enough time in which to conduct a modern-day political convention, given its scripted, theatrical nature.

  • Timing is Everything (in politics. If this year’s Republican National Convention had been held PRIOR to this year’s Democratic National Convention, would Sarah Palin have been tapped as John McCain’s VP?

  • Barack Obama - gifted campaigner & politician with a fundamental flaw: unable to connect to “ordinary people” either directly or indirectly (see Hillary Clinton)

  • John McCain - made the most consequential V.P. pick in modern-day American political history. Long a thorn in the side of conservatives, he may conceivably find himself mentioned in the same hallowed breath with… Ronald Reagan ????

  • Joe Biden - maundering human gaffe machine; it would be EXQUISITE to be a thought bubble inside the senator’s head as he prepares for his October 2, 2008 debate with Sarah “Barracuda” Palin. The pressure’s on Biden.

  • Hillary Rodham Clinton - Bulk of Hillary’s 18 million voters should go to Obama; his failure to put her on the ticket would almost certainly have propelled them both into the White House. Hillary Clinton is one of the most consequential figures in this election, the other being…

  • Sarah Palin - ambitious, self-assured and talented Governor of Alaska. Her candidacy is a campaign strategist’s dream given her bonafides in the pro-life, pro-gun,pro-oil, pro-energy, pro-America, union, professional executive, family values camps (to name a few).
  • Tim Russert - It’s a shame that Tim Russert is not here to witness the unfolding drama of the 2008 Election season. Moreover, it is clearly evident that the journalistic community clearly misses and needs Russert’s gravitas and professionalism.

Tuesday, August 26th, 2008

Patriot Games Radio - August 25, 2008. Broadcast LIVE from Doyle’s Cafe in the heart of Boston’s Jamaica Plain neighborhood. On the docket: good company, good audience, good guests = SUCCESS!!!

The night began with an opening monologue, followed by attorney Ed O’Reilly, candidate for US Senate. He is running in the Democratic primary to unseat the incumbent, John F. Kerry. The next guest: Jeff Beatty, who will represent Massachusetts Republicans in an effort to unseat John F. Kerry. An Eileen McNamara column described Kerry as “Imperious, arrogant, and indifferent…” The last guest but certainly not the least: David Paleologos, pollster extraordinare from Boston’s own Suffolk University. A newly released Suffolk University poll conducted by Paleologos describes the state of Colorado as a swing state, advantage Obama.

Audience participation was fantastic: calls came in from Georgia, Maryland, Massachusetts. The “chatizens” represented Washington state, Colorado, Wisconsin, Illinois, and Maryland.
The preponderance of the event was filmed by documentary filmmaker Ornit Barkai of Tinro Media Works. Special thanks to her and to her husband. Patriot Games Radio will be broadcasting live from Doyle’s Cafe from 8-10 PM EDT. Tune in.
