End of America??? – A View from Abroad by Peter Hitchins

Sunday, November 9th, 2008

At least there is one clear-eyed ink-stained wretch in the house of journalism.

Welcome to the “Post-Journalism” Era folks

Saturday, November 8th, 2008

Victor Davis-Hanson summarizes the demise of “journalism” nicely in this piece. I won’t even call them journalists for that matter; that term conveys respect. I now know why Limbaugh calls them “drive-bys”. I prefer “ink-stained wretches” or jock-sniffing, cheerleading partisans, or glassy-eyed Mandarins. Take your pick..of the following interviews and let me know your thoughts.

Miscellania – October 19, 2008

Sunday, October 19th, 2008

Cindy McCain’s lawyer fires high, hard heat at the New York Times. For once, I am rooting for the lawyer.

I continue to maintain that a media-inspired backlash will cost Barack Obama this election. Annoy the media – vote McCain-Palin!!!!

Another factor to cost Obama this election: middle class backlash. The Democrats fashion themselves the party of “the little guy”, another patronizing and offensive term. Their ham-handed treatment of “Joe the Plumber” gives the lie to this claim (assuming it had validity, which it hasn’t in my life time.)

Barack Obama’s William Ayers alibi: “This is a guy who lives in my neighborhood” continues to unravel.

While we’re discussing Senator Government’s neighborhood, feast your eyes and thoughts on this one (as opposed to “That One”.)

On Tuesday, October 21, 2008, I will interview Mr. John Ruberry of Marathon Pundit fame. He is knowledgeable on all things Obama (nearly all things), including Rezko and company.

Kudos to the Boston Red Sox; never, ever write this team off until AFTER they are done. And apparently, they are not done yet. Thanks guys.

Camille Paglia Dishes on Palin, Obama, World at Large

Wednesday, October 8th, 2008

My first introduction to Camille Paglia came via my mother, who found her radio presence appealing. That was probably 15 years ago. My next Paglia moment came at an appearance she made at Harvard University/Kennedy School. She was pithy, entertaining and informative; a tour-de-force. She still is; read her latest thoughts on Governor Sarah Palin, et al.

Barney Frank’s Fannie Mae “Love” Connection

Thursday, September 25th, 2008

This blurb came to me by way of Rush Limbaugh’s daily digest. Once again, the media are shown to be selective in their application of investigative reporting.

Rolling Stone Rag Magazine: “Dry Humps for Obama”

Thursday, September 25th, 2008

Apparently, Rolling Stone Magazine is ramping up its “Dry Hump for Obama” efforts. According to a Michelle Malkin posting, Rolling Stone’s Matt Taibbi has belched forth an offal-laiden “article” entitled “The Lies of Sarah Palin.” Simply stated, it’s nothing more than an “ad-hominem” attack, which is in fact one of the lowest forms of expression. The rub here is this particular edition of the “magazine” is being distributed to non-subscribers. You can read the full Monty here, but the bottom line is: should you receive a copy, write “REFUSED” across the front of it in LARGE letters and place it in the nearest US Postal unit, including your own mailbox. It will be returned to the sender who will also be charged for the return postage.

The AP, Corporate Taxes and “The Media”

Monday, August 18th, 2008

When I first read the AP headline: “”, I admitted to being taken aback (see link below). That is, until I read the story and came to the conclusion that headlines are frequently misleading. Frequently, they serve as a means to an end of “scraping eyeballs” toward a particular story line. In this case, if all you read is the headline, you will come to the conclusion that “corporations are not paying their fair share” and other such nonsense. In reality, corporations don’t pay taxes, shareholders and people do. Moreover, many business entities today operate on a “pass-through” basis, meaning that they pass through any profits that may exist directly to the owner(s) personal tax bracket and return. So technically, the “business entity” doesn’t pay taxes in addition to the owners. The tax man is only getting one bite (and a very large one at that) of the profit apple. Which is the way it ought to be. The AP can be excused for not possessing extensive knowledge of tax policy, who does? They can’t be forgiven however, for not giving both sides of the story. The Tax Foundation is one such source as is Americans for Tax Reform.

Barack Obama – “The One???” – Spectacular Obama Spoof on this Page

Tuesday, July 29th, 2008

OUTSTANDING send-up of the Obama hagiography gripping narrow swaths of America (media/elites) and rest of world: Jonathan Swift himself would be PROUD.

My Interview with Terry Michael – SUPERB!!!!

Wednesday, June 25th, 2008

My interview with Mr. Michael, a press secretary to former US Senator Paul Simon and to the Demcocratic National Committee now heads the Washington Center for Politics and Journalism. Having made the transition from New Deal Democrat to libertarian Democrat, he treated listeners to a lively and informative debate on Iraq, McCain, Obama and the state of both major political parties. His is a voice that will and needs to be heard often. A sampling of his of his thoughts.

Brought to you by Boston Patriot – who appreciates YOUR continued and increasing listener support.
