Extra,Extra, Read All About It: Media Double Standard: Campaign Finance

Sunday, October 19th, 2008

Tip of the hat to Instapundit’s Glenn Reynolds for scraping this one off the wires. Surprise, surprise: when Republicans raise truckloads of cash to win elections, it’s an impeachable offense, a travesty to the Founder’s vision of America. When the situation is reversed, and the Democrat (high-priest of hyprocrisy) who favored public campaign finance BEFORE he opposed it tries to buy an election, the media are, well tongue-tied. Keep it up folks; you are steadily slouching your way towards irrelevance, just like the Dinosaurs.

Cindy McCain’s lawyer fires high, hard heat at the New York Times. For once, I am rooting for the lawyer.

I continue to maintain that a media-inspired backlash will cost Barack Obama this election. Annoy the media – vote McCain-Palin!!!!

Another factor to cost Obama this election: middle class backlash. The Democrats fashion themselves the party of “the little guy”, another patronizing and offensive term. Their ham-handed treatment of “Joe the Plumber” gives the lie to this claim (assuming it had validity, which it hasn’t in my life time.)

Barack Obama’s William Ayers alibi: “This is a guy who lives in my neighborhood” continues to unravel.

While we’re discussing Senator Government’s neighborhood, feast your eyes and thoughts on this one (as opposed to “That One”.)

On Tuesday, October 21, 2008, I will interview Mr. John Ruberry of Marathon Pundit fame. He is knowledgeable on all things Obama (nearly all things), including Rezko and company.

Kudos to the Boston Red Sox; never, ever write this team off until AFTER they are done. And apparently, they are not done yet. Thanks guys.

Obama’s Quest is Parlous…McCain-Palin “Win”

Thursday, October 16th, 2008

Given the kid-gloves treatment by the media, given the tumultuous economic conditions, given the national anti-Republican sentiment, given the public’s restive calls for “change”, given the candidate’s multiple Friends in Low Places problem, why isn’t Barack Obama Mopping the floor with John McCain? Karl Rove lays out some of the reasons. To which I would add: Obama has never closed the deal when he had to, going back to January’s New Hampshire Democratic primary, when he was supposed to wipe the floor with Senator Hillary Clinton. Moreover, the injection of Joe the Plumber into the campaign debate is the metaphor for blue collar America that Obama does not need. Joe reminds the rest of us Middle Class Americans that Obama/Pelosi/Reid/Kerry/Frank/Dodd/Carter/Kennedy/Gore/Rangel/Durbin/Biden/ et. al. are the enemy. They represent anti-America/anti-Western/anti-Israel/anti-Capitalist/anti-democratic/anti free thought subversion. Remember President John F. Kerry folks? I anticipate that the Joe the Plumber/Hillarycrats/Annoy the Media-Vote McCain/Palin types will provide Senator McCain-Governor Palin the margin of electoral victory in this election.

Comparing Candidates (Major) Tax Plans

Monday, October 13th, 2008

Admittedly, Senator Obama has plenty of company when it comes to economic illiteracy. However, since it is possible he will be this nation’s next President, here is an example of his illiteracy; Obama – Economic Illiterate.

The key to a sound economy; growth, wealth, entrepreneurship. Governor Palin gets it instinctively; McCain’s proposal is more weighted toward growth than not. But in general, Democrats want Americans fighting over the pieces of the economic pie. Republicans want to make the pie larger and realize that the American people are the pie-bakers.
