I am a proud member of Comflm; Janet Aldrich is a heroine for her advocacy of this important subject. Please urge your elected officials to support genuine transparency and openness.

June 25, 2009 the Joint Committee on Administration and Regulatory Oversight heard bills on Open Meeting Law and Public Record Law. Chris Funnell, Freelance Journalist and Janet Aldrich, President of Comflm Registry spoke on S1458 a 4 part bill drafted by Senator Tarrs office of Gloucester and Janet Aldrich. The bill will create a data base of Independant Media in Masaachusetts in order to enable them to access the State Building Access Pass and to help establish protocols for Freelance Journalism in Massachusetts. This bill also is in favor of the General Court coming under the Open Meeting law and Public Record laws of Massachusetts. Janet testifies of the pressing press problems taping at the Massachusetts Statehouse the past 6 years and her observation that the mood is changing internally towards being videotaped .. This needs to be done for sure across the nation. We need to videoarchive all public records when possible. Pl
