My Interview with John Bolton

Thursday, July 10th, 2008

Could aptly be subtitled: “America – A Republic or Another Wing of the Global Village.” Ambassador Bolton’s book is a must read. It constitutes a personal account of the dangers posed to American interests by the (yawn) American left and its globalist counterparts (the UN, the EU, the US State Department bureaucracy) to name a few. The Ambassador was engaging and affable and has promised to come back to the program soon. The full interview (1st 20 minutes) (and a link to the book) is available by clicking here.

My Interview with Frances Rice – Superb

Tuesday, July 8th, 2008

Last night’s interview with Dr. Rice was superb. She is an unabashed advocate of American greatness and values. If John McCain wants to inspire the conservative base of his party and of America, he would do well to give Dr. Rice a front and center spot in his campaign. Dr. Rice, for those who don’t know, is chair of the National Black Republican Association. For those of you who missed her appearance, the show is available for download by clicking here. Special thanks to my co-host, Chad Everson of Grizzly Groundswell fame. For those of you looking for some more, Dr. Rice has consented to make another appearance on the program in mid-August. Stay tuned.

Jesse Helms – A Retrospective

Friday, July 4th, 2008

In the course of my preparation for the John Bolton interview, the name Jesse Helms recurs. It was then Senator Helms (R,NC), who demanded the United States withhold it’s portion of United Nations “dues” unless and until much needed reforms proved forthcoming. Eventually, the “dues” were reinstated but not the much needed reforms. Helms’ passing is a timely reminder of this fact; who will take up the cudgels for U.N. reform (an oxymoron perhaps?) now?

July 4, 2008 – My Interview with William J. Felkner

Friday, July 4th, 2008

Felkner heads the Ocean State Policy Research Institute, Rhode Island’s sole free-market think tank. He credits the Rhode Island budget deficit with providing the impetus to implement reforms conducive to fiscal and social responsibility. Among his notable and quotable observations: “You can’t combine open borders with a welfare state.”  Chat room participation was vigorous and spirited and as always, encouraged. McClatchy Publishing Michael Yon and a Question

Wednesday, June 25th, 2008

Last week, whilst doing some dedicated web browsing, I came across a website that piqued my curiosity. As is so frequently the case, I set aside the primary purpose of my web search, and instead began poking around the site. As it turns out, I had landed upon the McClatchy Washington Bureau Guantanomo Inmate Database. My neck hairs were firmly on end by the time I completed my admittedly cursory survey of the site and returned to my original purpose. To be blunt: I suspect McClatchy to be a left-left oriented publishing outfit (San Francisco based?) and as such this site is immediately suspect. On the other hand, Michael Yon, to the best of my knowledge, has been and is a down the line “independent” journalist who has chronicled the Iraq conflict with relative objectivity and professionalism. I was therefore taken aback when I read this posting from his blog. I don’t know what to make of it but once again the neck hairs are standing at full attention. I am not ready to pull the plug on Mr. Yon but would like to get some feedback about this post/Yon, from you, the reader. If the comments attending the post are indicative, Michael has some ’splainin’ to do. Bottom Line Radio may have to swing into action on this one.Technorati Tags: , , , ,
