Frankly speaking – Barney Frank’s bloviations

Sunday, July 12th, 2009

Hat tip to Verum Serum for this oneBarney Frank is a public policy menace. He is also a dissembler/hypocrite.  He is not however, a fool. His “blame conservatives for the mess” is merely a clever rehash of the Big Lie theory. Repeat it often enough, and it becomes an accepted part of the public discourse. Particularly when the media are in large part complicit in the dissemniation of Big Lies. We look forward to Congressman Frank’s defeat.

Barney Frank, Public Policy Menace

Friday, June 12th, 2009

Tip of the hat to: Kevin of Pundit Review, The Purple Podium

Apparatchik: Person who causes bureaucratic bottlenecks. Apparatchik: – A blindly devoted official. Apparatchik: Barney Frank. Congressman Barney Frank is a busy man these days. Apparently not content to interfere in the operations of the (once) private industrial juggernaut General Motors, he is now turning his “talents”  toward executive compensation. And we do mean “expertise”, having functioned so well in managing the nation’s housing and economic policies. As the attached video demonstrates however, Mr. Frank’s temperament is less than appealing when subject to scrutiny. Apart from winning elections, what has he accomplished? What has been his net contribution to Massachusetts or the country?  We maintain it is zero. The man is a Public Policy menace. Perhaps he needs a (permanent) vacation.

Barney Frank, Lamar Alexander call excerpts

Thursday, June 11th, 2009

Here’s an audio copy of the call I participated in with Senator Lamar Alexander(R,TN) on Wednesday. He mentions Barney Frank (D,MA) several times (once at 01:43 and again at approximately 02:47). I will be posting more of these as they come along:

Barney Frank – Car Tzar

Wednesday, June 10th, 2009

John Steele Gordon’s May 21,2009 Wall Street Journal opinion piece contains timeless advice. Entitled, Why Government Can’t Run a Business, Gordon cites multiple examples of bureaucratic ineptitude conducted at the public’s expense. His bottom line: governments can’t run businesses profitably because the bureaucrats running the governments make political,  not business decisions and political decisions are invariably at odds with sound business practice. For example:

And politicians tend to favor parochial interests over sound economic sense. Consider a thought experiment. There is a national widget crisis and Sen. Wiley Snoot is chairman of the Senate Widget Committee. There are two technologies that are possible solutions to the problem, with Technology A widely thought to be the more promising of the two. But the company that has been developing Technology B is headquartered in Sen. Snoot’s state and employs 40,000 workers there. Which technology is Sen. Snoot going to use his vast legislative influence to push?

Well move over Senator Snoot and meet Congressman Barney Frank (D,MA) or should we call him Car Tzar Frank? So dubbed by Tennessee Senator Lamar Alexander (R,TN), Frank is the recipient of the first Car Tzar award for his Snoot-like effots on behalf of a GM concern based in his district.  “Congratulations” Tzar Frank:

Barney Frank’s Fannie Mae “Love” Connection

This blurb came to me by way of Rush Limbaugh’s daily digest. Once again, the media are shown to be selective in their application of investigative reporting.
